27 days of Elf on the Shelf

Our Elf on the Shelf Tad reappeared this Christmas season.   As usual Tad had some good tricks up his sleeve.  I recycled some old ideas and turned to Pinterest for some new activities.  I used a LOT of free printables off Pinterest this year.  I printed them off at the public library so they didn't cost me any cash, just a few minutes of my time.  We enjoy seeing how the kids react each year, shoot, each morning!!!! Issac LOVES our elf, sometimes breaking out in to full laughter before he has even completly opened his eyes! Josie on the other hand.....Well, some days she is not a big Tad fan.  We reguraly heard her say "TAD WAS BAD!" & 'TAD IS NOT NICE!"  And she even had a couple of minor breakdowns over Tad playing with her toys & the smores....Oh my was Josie upset that Tad had ate all the marshmellows & not saved her any!  Confession & Mean Parent Alert- Josie provided us with some good laughs this holiday season!  The logic of a four year old is awesome.  

Now that Issac can read I am going to have to be better at planning ahead next year.  I will need to type up all my notes & uses some of those cool free printable letters from Santa! 
 
I will be honest. We were out of town for Thanksgiving & I forgot to move Tad out.  So when we returned home I was very quick like & pulled Tad out of our closet & put him in the bathroom while Tyler & the kids unloaded the car.  Sneaky, sneaky!

Day 2 Tad brought us Elf on the Shelf Coloring sheets.
 Day 3 & Day 4 tad was just "hanging" out.

Issac's TMNT Birthday

I think it was only a day or two after his fourth birthday party that Issac declared that for his fifth birthday he wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party when he turned six.   Honestly, I’m half surprised he didn’t change his mind & half not surprised at all that he didn’t change his mind during the year because Issac has loved turtles ever since he was two.   Issac loves not just TMNT but all things turtle, he has books about turtles, a handful of stuffed turtles and even a pet tortoise, Crush.     Above- Issac invited 6 school friends to his party. Summer 2018

We enjoyed another summer creating memories of fun & chaos. The actually calendar dates for the seasons never seem to coincide with the weather in Washington.  Summer in my head runs from the last day of school to Labor Day weekend.  Since moving to Whatcom county in June 2015, we don't spend as much time at the parks.  Although the people in the community are more family oriented & friendly, the parks system leave much to be desired after living in King County.  Our favorite park this summer was Lynden City Park.  Issac spends the entire time in the creek chasing fish and crawdads.  Josie goes back and fourth from the water to the swings, with the tire swing being her favorite. We did less camping than last summer but we participated in more summer time activities than ever before.  Issac played summer baseball and the kids each participated in a couple of summer camps.  The kids are become very social little people and spent a lot of the summer playing outside with thi

University of Washington Tacoma Graduation

After years of dreaming & hard work, on Friday June 10th, 2011, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies.  It was a great day. Tyler, the kids, my Mom, my Uncle Greg, cousins Emma & Jacob plus my Grandpa's wife Barb cheered me on inside the Tacoma Dome. 2011 has gone by so quickly.  Since Josie's birth completing my homework has been tough. Some days i just wanted to stay home & hold my baby. But I knew that she was safe at home with her father while I attended class.  I look back and I am so grateful for Tyler who has always believed in me & never kicked me while I was down.  Our plan to have children while I attended school was one of the best decisions we could have made for our family.  Everyone keeps asking so many questions!!! "When will you get a job?" "Where will you work?" 'what will you do with the kids?"  All kinds of personal questions. Tyler & I have been waiting to hear if he will return to work or not be
