Our 1st Easter as a Family of Four

Easter weekend was BUSY.  Thursday Robbie & Hannah came over for a visit.  Friday Grandma Laura stopped in for a few hours & then we took Josie to her 1st Mariner's game in the evening.  Issac stayed at home with a babysitter and enjoyed a fun night of playing cars & watching movies.  The Mariners have been on a loosing streak but they WON for us. ;)  



Saturday morning Grandma Melanie came down from Bellingham on the Amtrak. Her train was running late but when she arrived we drove straight to the zoo to enjoy the amazing weather Seattle was having.  Issac enjoyed his 1st Easter Egg Hunt.  He was totally IN TO IT: climbing under bushes & filling the baskets of other children in the toddler egg hunt area, the eggs were empty but made us excited for the Easter Bunny to come.  We then enjoyed the zoo visiting all the animals, of which the monkeys, gorillas & elephants were most captivating to Issac. 



Easter morning, we had covered the living room with plastic eggs filled with plastic bugs, chalk & goldfish crackers for Issac & headbands & bows for Josie.  Grandma Mel, Tyler & I all waited for Issac who slept in til 9:30 am to wake up. Right away Issac notice the eggs around the house.  On a normal morning he wants to cuddle & drink his milk for about 20 minutes before he starts his day but as soon as he climbed into my Mom's lap he wanted down & began to collect the eggs.  Each egg he brought one at a time to Grandma Mel to open, smiling with excitement with each egg.  It was amazing to watch Issac, he was so into the egg hunt. Then he noticed the basket & took each book and item out to be examined.  I made a nice Spinach & Bacon Quiche & we enjoyed a quite day.


I made a yummy Ham dinner & we were joined by my friend Shobi & Tyler's cousin Robbie.  Monday morning Tyler took my Mom to the train.  It was a wonderful weekend! I hope everyone had a great Easter Filled with wounderful Memories.

I think it was only a day or two after his fourth birthday party that Issac declared that for his fifth birthday he wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party when he turned six.   Honestly, I’m half surprised he didn’t change his mind & half not surprised at all that he didn’t change his mind during the year because Issac has loved turtles ever since he was two.   Issac loves not just TMNT but all things turtle, he has books about turtles, a handful of stuffed turtles and even a pet tortoise, Crush.     Above- Issac invited 6 school friends to his party. Summer 2018

We enjoyed another summer creating memories of fun & chaos. The actually calendar dates for the seasons never seem to coincide with the weather in Washington.  Summer in my head runs from the last day of school to Labor Day weekend.  Since moving to Whatcom county in June 2015, we don't spend as much time at the parks.  Although the people in the community are more family oriented & friendly, the parks system leave much to be desired after living in King County.  Our favorite park this summer was Lynden City Park.  Issac spends the entire time in the creek chasing fish and crawdads.  Josie goes back and fourth from the water to the swings, with the tire swing being her favorite. University of Washington Tacoma Graduation

After years of dreaming & hard work, on Friday June 10th, 2011, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies.  It was a great day. Tyler, the kids, my Mom, my Uncle Greg, cousins Emma & Jacob plus my Grandpa's wife Barb cheered me on inside the Tacoma Dome. 2011 has gone by so quickly.  Since Josie's birth completing my homework has been tough. Some days i just wanted to stay home & hold my baby. But I knew that she was safe at home with her father while I attended class.  I look back and I am so grateful for Tyler who has always believed in me & never kicked me while I was down.  Our plan to have children while I attended school was one of the best decisions we could have made for our family.  Everyone keeps asking so many questions!!!
